Lauren is a costume designer, wig & makeup artist, crafts artisan, and costume technician. She enjoys trying on as many (literal & figurative) hats as she can within the field of costuming in order to keep her creative brain alert and awake. Lauren received their MFA in costume design & technology from West Virginia University in May 2017. At WVU, Lauren held a teaching assistantship which provided them with three years of college level teaching experience. Classes taught include: courses on make-up design and application as well as introductory costuming lecture and lab courses. Lauren has since served as an adjunct professor in costume design & technology for Shenandoah University as well as for her alma mater: Dickinson College.
Lauren is currently based in NJ and is available for freelance work in the area and beyond-- they have most recently designed costumes for the University of Scranton, West Virginia Public Theatre, and Dickinson College.
Lauren is the owner of Turn to the Sun Tailoring in South Jersey as well as Turn to the Sun Crafts on Etsy. Follow the links provided to learn more/see what she currently has available for purchase.
